SEN Teaching Assistant

A Primary School in Hulme (M15) are recruiting for a strong SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a child in KS2 on a 1:1 basis. This is a full time post which is due to start mid September and will run all the way through until the end of the Summer Term 2021. 

The role is to work with a child who will be going into Year 4. The child has severe autism and can display extremeley challenging behaviours. It is important that applicants have experience supporting young people with specific needs and have excellent behaviour management. The child is extremeley able accademically but needs support to intergrate with peers and to access learning inside the classroom. 

The successful applicant will work with the child on a 1:1 basis through out the school day. Support will take place inside and outside the classroom. The child also responds well to outdoor learning so it is imporant that the selected candidate is able to adapt learning to suit the individuals needs. 

The position is to work in a 'GOOD' Primary School which has been praised by Ofsted for it's 'inclusive environment'. The Head Teacher is looking for a compassionate, understanding SEN Teaching Assistant who will support all of the childs need whilst integrating into the wider school community.

- Have strong behaviour management and are able to defuse challenging situations 

- Have worked in KS2 as a Teaching Assistant before and have experience with SEN
