We are looking for a teaching assistant to work in a local Primary school in Guiseley, Leeds. We require someone with experience supporting primary aged pupils who is flexible and enthusiastic. You will be required to support pupils on a 1-1 basis and in small groups for intervention sessions in reading, writing and maths. You will also be expected to support the class teacher in preparing resources for whole class lessons, monitor pupils behaviour and ensure they are maintaining COVID safe practices where possible in and around school.
Depending on experience you could be assigned a pupil to work 1-1 with as their support worker in school, you will be their main support network and will be responsible for their progress in areas such as Literacy and Maths. You will also be required to keep up good communications with the pupils parents, reporting on progress, behaviour and any learning concerns.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with Primary aged children
- Lots of energy and enthusiasm towards pupils learning
- Ability to work on your own initiative without class teacher direction
- An interest in working in education in the future or an aspiring teacher
- Ability to work alongside a class room teacher and with other members of the support team
- Have additional experience or training in Makaton, Sign Language, Team Teach, MAPA etc.
- Hold an advanced Child Only DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
