Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Specialist Teaching Assistant to support a Pupil Referral Unit in Halton. The school caters for 11-16 year olds with complex SEMH difficulties and ASC; therefore, many children who attend the school display challenging behaviour
Team Teach or MAPA training is desired but not essential.
As a Teaching Assist, you will be expected to support the children across the curriculum and, with a nurturing approach, cultivate their skills. You must also encourage students, in line with the schools ethos, to help them become more independent and confident.
The successful candidate must be extremely resilient, patient and persistent in order to build good rapport with the children which they are supporting. As many children who attend this school are often disengaged from education, the school has an broad and varied curriculum. Therefore, the successful candidate should be able to cultivate this interest and ensure to remain positive even in difficult situations.
Previous experience working in a similar SEMH provision is preferred.
This is a fulltime role from 8.30am – 3.30 pm Monday to Friday.
Pay for this role is negotiable but will not be less than GBP10 per hour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
