We are working with a school in the Whitefield area, who cater for students aged 11-16 with a wide range of physical, complex medical and communication needs. The school dedicates itself to developing students academic, social independence and employability skills, so that students are able to lead independent lives. The school works in close partnership with families providing an excellent education, seeking to engage students with holistic, innovative and aspirational strategies to engage students with the curriculum and to increase their resilience.
The school provides a personalised curriculum which is tailored to the students. It provides such subjects as; Animal Care, Independent Living, Applied Learning through work based studies, and therapies.
The ideal candidate will have a variety of experience in an SEN setting, either educational, or as a support worker in a medical or social work setting. You will demonstrate empathy and compassion for working with young people, and provide support to ensure equality,dignity and independence to ensure that the pupils needs are met.
Experience/ Personal Specification Required:
- Experience working with SEN schools (desirable)
- Manual Handling (desirable)
- Team Teach or Restraint training (desirable)
- Go above and beyond expectations
- Empathy and patience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
