SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are on the hunt for passionate, versatile and enthusiastic teaching assistant looking to work alongside pupils with learning and behavioural difficulties.

The role would be supporting pupils of a primary age with a variety of learning and behavioural difficulties, both on a 1:1 basis as well as small group work. While this position is more challenging than a mainstream teaching assistant post it is a highly rewarding one; really being able to make an impact on these children and help them develop further.

If you have any relevant childcare qualifications such as a Cache Level 3 then please get in touch, but this is not essential as a lot of the time it comes down to the right person who is able to develop an excellent relationship with these pupils and is not phased by behavioural difficulties.

The role will be to support pupils with various learning difficulties including moderate learning difficulties, autism, ADHD and emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

The school are ideally looking for someone who is adaptable, enthusiastic and has the ability to build rapport quickly with both pupils and staff.

Class sizes are smaller than mainstream schools and there will be support in the classroom from other teaching assistants and a class teacher, so you really will have the opportunity to make a difference!
