Nurture TA / Teacher –Secondary School – Norris Green – February 2020
Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Secondary School that has set up a Nurture base for students with complex social and communication difficulties, located in the Norris Green area of Liverpool
This school are seeking a Key Stage 3 Nurture Teacher to join them on a temporary basis from February 2020 until the end of the academic year.
Your new role As a KS3 Nurture Teacher, you will deliver the nurture curriculum to a small class of students and mentor them in support of their academic and personal development, as they transfer from Yr7 to Yr8 and Yr8 into Yr9
This role will involve working with the Nurture Team Leader, KS4 Nurture Class Teacher and the SENCo to create a highly supportive environment, in line with the schools autism strategies, which will ensure that each student feels safe, secure and confident to continue the journey to overcoming their barriers to learning.
The Nurture Curriculum includes English (and Drama), Maths, Science, PSHE, Computing and Humanities. Each of these subjects has a Subject Leader to share resources and provide guidance
What you'll need to succeed… To be successful, you should have experience working with students in an SEN school or with children with complex, social and communication difficulties in a mainstream secondary environment.
You will have up to date knowledge of the current curriculum and have recent teaching experience within a Secondary SEN School and be able to provide good to outstanding references
