A Hackney (E9) Primary School are looking for a SEN TA/SEMH Support Worker for a long-term role beginning in September. If you are experienced in supporting SEN children in an educational or care-based setting then read on to find out more details, as this could be the role for you! This child is in Year 4, and has an EHCP meaning they require a 1-2-1 assistance whilst in school. The child has autism (ASC) as well as childhood trauma, and these SEMH needs mean that the child's behaviour can be extremely challenging at times. Therefore the school need someone reliable and with substantial experience who is able to build a good relationship over the long-term. This is a very exciting opportunity at an OUTSTANDING school. The role is full-time, starting ASAP, and would result in a Permanent Contract at the end of the academuc year should the chosen candidate be a success. Therefore if you have experience in specialist support roles then this is a fantastic opportunity for permanent role in a great and welcoming school! The school have set out the following requirements for this position:
The child can often become agitated and restless, so the Head needs someone who can take the child from class when necessary and calm them down on a 1-2-1 basis. For this reason, experience of 1-2-1 SEND support in any capacity such as a care home or specialist provision would be highly thought of by school as this would tend to involve a similar skill set, despite it being in a mainstream primary setting. Communication with the child's parents is also important to the school, as this is how a positive long-term relationship is built. If you match the criteria set out by the school and are seeking support work for this academic year, then please hit ‘apply’ below. Your CV will first be assessed by us at Teaching Personnel before managing the application process for a select number of candidates, and arranging online interviews with the school once registration and vetting is complete. |
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training.
