Secondary Supply Teacher

Teaching Personnel are seeking Secondary Teachers to start in April for schools in the Newport and surrounding areas.

Due to Covid we are currently experiencing a huge demand for supply teachers to help cover staff absences in Secondary schools.

The positions available are:

• day to day 
• short term bookings
• long term placements
• temp to perm placements

Responsibilities of a Supply Teacher:

You will be responsible for teaching planned work to classes of between 25 and 35 Secondary aged pupils. Teaching Personnel will always strive to get you supply work in your specialist subject, but the nature of supply is that you will be required to provide general cover at times where needed.  All lessons are planned and prepared by class teachers and you are then responsible for the delivery of work, ensuring all pupils are kept on task and that all classroom behaviour is appropriate.

Working as a supply teacher, you can work as little as 1 day a week and can also secure longer term work if you wish which can continue for a full academic year.

Requirements:

To work as a supply teacher you must have Qualified Teacher Status and UK classroom experience.

You will also need to have an enhanced DBS check and be EWC registered - Teaching Personnel can help you apply for these if necessary.

Teaching Personnel is a Welsh Government Approved Framework Agency and so you will receive the framework pay rate: GBP138.56 a day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
