SEN Teaching Assistant

An Outstanding special school based in Southgate is looking for a teaching assistant to join their ranks beginning January 2020.

This school caters to children with low needs, including children with high-functioning Autism, Downs syndrome and other mild learning and physical disabilities. The school is incredibly nurturing and take the time to properly brief, train and accept new staff into their ranks. Class sizes range from 7-13 children with 1 teacher and 2 teaching assistants, working alongside oneanother to ensure children are recieving an education which is inclusive and maximises the potential and highlights the skills of every child that enters the school.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience whether paid or personal with children with special education needs and have a passion for education.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will:

-          Some experience working with individuals with special education needs/challenging behaviour or a caregiving background (Personal experience is acceptable)

-          Have Team Teach training (or be willing to enrol on the October course)

-          Be organised, friendly and be confident to lead a team.

-          Have a passion for education!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
