Job description

Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) throughout their time in education at a large and popular secondary school.

  • Full time SEN Teaching Assistant required from February 2020
  • Fixed term contract until the end of the academic year in the first instance (July 2020)
  • Permanent contract available for the perfect candidate thereafter
  • Join a supportive and dedicated team of support staff in the SEN department
  • Earn up to GBP1300 per month

This larger than average secondary school is located in the Salford Quays area of Salford, with the school set to expand on it’s current enrolment of 600+ students in the coming years. In their latest Ofsted inspection in 2016, the school was rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted with inspectors commenting on the vast improvements over recent years and teachers knowing the their subjects and pupils well.

Prospective candidates will ideally have experience of supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) including ASC, dyslexia as well as other conditions. The role will involve supporting students both in class as well as through intervention sessions in key subject areas. Candidates who have experience of working with young people in other capacities such as Youth Work, Sports Coaching and Mentoring will have key transferrable skills for this role.
