Teaching Assistant

This lovely mainstream primary school is looking for a teaching assistant who is interested in teaching within a primary school and who would like to help with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). The primary school are looking for someone who would like to work in Key Stage 2 with the year 5's. There are some special educational needs children within the class who would really benefit from you helping them. The primary school do offer fantastic training and support if you have not worked with SEN before as they want you to succeed just as much as the children will.

The school has a lot of activates that you can take part in, but your general day will be from 8:30-4pm. You will be expected to be there before the children arrive to ensure that they all get onto the school property safely and you will need to be there after they all leave. This is a fantastic way to gain primary school experience and develop your skills in order to become and outstanding teaching assistant.

You will be expected to work with the class and 1:1 with the children to ensure that they keep up to pace with the rest of the class. The school itself is a two form mainstream primary school based in the borough of Merton. The school has good transport links surrounding it and it has local parking. This makes it convenient for anyone commuting in. If you have any SEN experience this is fantastic but not necessary. You do need a degree or a level 2 or 3 teaching assistant qualification, in order to be considered for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
