We have an opportunity to place a SEN Teaching Assistant in an OFSTED ‘Outstanding’ rated school for pupils aged 11-18 with Severe, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties for the academic year beginning in September 2020.

This school has excellent facilities to support the development of the children with classes usually having 6 to 10 pupils present. This supplemented with speech and language therapists, nurses and a nationally recognized football club-run workshops. The school’s reputation is well regarded in the local community and the motives of the school are further recognized with its recent OFSTED rating being outstanding in all areas inspected.

Your role as a SEN Teaching Assistant the school would be to assist the class teacher and possibly support other TA’s in the room throughout the school day. Your main duties will include helping pupils with their work, assistance in group work activities, providing an alternative environment for the pupils to work to promote the pupils progress and help them reach their full potential.

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant would have:

• Experience of working with Severe, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties particularly those pupils with Autism/ willingness to train.

• A calm and patient manner to support pupils through difficult times.

• Someone who is comfortable with outdoor play and support if needed.

The school is situated in the Sale area of Trafford, with public transport links nearby.

To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of this as skills and experience.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
