SEN Teaching Assistant – Ad Hoc & Long-Term Opportunities

Location: Yeovil, Somerset
Agency: Teaching Personnel
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
Start Date: Immediate & ongoing

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist SEN school in Yeovil that is seeking Teaching Assistants for both ad hoc supply and longer-term placements.

The school operates across four specialist provisions, supporting pupils with:

  • SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs)

  • PRU settings

  • Medical needs

  • Mental health needs

Pupils range from Year 1 to Year 11, so flexibility and adaptability are key.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis

  • Assisting with learning, behaviour regulation and emotional support

  • Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff

  • Creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

We Are Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (desirable)

  • A calm, patient and resilient approach

  • Flexibility to work across different settings and age groups

  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
