SEN Teaching Assistant – Multiple Roles Available
Wigan | Immediate Start (After Easter) & September Opportunities

Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? Multiple schools across Wigan are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to provide vital support to students both after Easter and ahead of the new academic year in September.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain rewarding experience working with pupils with a range of special educational needs, while benefiting from flexible work and clear pathways into long-term or permanent positions.

The role:

  • Supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting with learning, behaviour, and emotional development
  • Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs
  • Adapting resources and approaches to meet individual needs

The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people (education, care, or support settings)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine interest in supporting SEN and inclusive education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
