SEN Teaching Assistant – Waterlooville
Location: Waterlooville, Hampshire
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Full-time / Part-time opportunities available
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Waterlooville area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone looking to develop their career in special educational needs.
The successful candidate will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence and achieve their individual potential.
Key Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEN needs.

Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities.

Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional and behavioural development.
-
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and encourage their independence.

Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
-
Implement strategies and support plans as directed by teaching staff and SEN professionals.
-
Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, inclusive learning environment.
-
Work effectively as part of a supportive school team.
-
Maintain appropriate records and communicate effectively with teachers and other professionals.

Reliable, adaptable and committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
Previous experience working within an SEN, school, college or care setting would be highly advantageous, although candidates with transferable experience will also be considered.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
