Location: Portsmouth
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Full-time / Part-time (Flexible)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are looking for a caring, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in Portsmouth.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them achieve their full potential in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
  • Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive relationships.
  • Help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progress.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable but not essential.
  • A positive, patient, and compassionate approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to adapt to individual learning needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
