Job description

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – September Start (Temp to Perm)

Location: Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire

Start Date: ASAP

Daily Rate: £90 - £100 Per Day

We are recruiting on behalf of a vibrant and inclusive primary school in the NG17 area. This school is part of the local community and caters to children aged 3–11

The school prides itself on a nurturing, child-centred ethos where every pupil is valued. They deliver a rich, creative curriculum in inspiring learning environments and place strong emphasis on personalised support and growth.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting pupils in lessons to help them access the curriculum according to their individual needs

  • Assisting with personal care when necessary

  • Implementing communication aids and strategies to support pupil expression

  • Encouraging independence, resilience, and confidence

  • Liaising and collaborating effectively with teachers, TA colleagues, and other professionals

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children, ideally with SEN or additional needs (in a school, care, or youth setting)

  • Is patient, flexible, and resilient

  • Can develop strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Shows initiative, professionalism, and a willingness to learn

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
