SEN Teaching Assistant

A provision across Sunderland are searching for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with their pupils, pupils under the remit of this provision have a range of SEN needs including ASC, SEMH, ACES and CLA. You will be responsible for working closely with a pupil and supporting them within either their mainstream or SEN specialist school.

You will ideally be at least Level 2 qualified and have experience working on a 1:1 basis with young people with SEN needs. You will be confident responding to challenging behaviour and have a passion for helping young people, whilst you will predominantly be there to work 1:1 there may be times throughout hte school day where you are required to support across the classroom as a whole and support the class teacher.

This will be held on a full time basis, commencing upon completion of vetting checks and will be held until the end of the academic term with the opportunity for extension providing the work with the pupil is successful. Depending on the pupils requirements and your performance there is potential for this to be extended. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
