Job description

A highly reputable and award-winning group of specialist schools is seeking passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their growing team in Staffordshire.

Renowned for providing exceptional education and care for children and young people with Special Educational Needs, this school group offers a supportive and dynamic working environment where every team member plays a key role in the development and well-being of their pupils.

The Role:
Working closely with class teachers and therapists, SEN Teaching Assistants support students aged 5–19 with a range of needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health challenges, and complex learning difficulties. The role involves assisting with classroom activities, promoting independence, and helping pupils reach their full potential through a personalised curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Right to work in the UK (this school group cannot offer sponsorship)
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
