Job description

Salary: £90 - £110

Are you a passionate individual, who wants to support young people in education? Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work across secondary schools in Sheffield. This TA will need to be proactive and interactive with the children, with a passionate and dedicated approach to helping them. Prior experience implementing EHCPs and IEPs would be beneficial for this role.

About the Role

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to pupils with Special educational needs.
  • Assisting with the implementation of EHCPs.
  • Support the development and implementation of individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Using PECs to communicate with children who have communication difficulties.
  • Adapt and modify different learning materials to meet the individual needs of each child.
  • Have an open minded and tailored approach to engaging with the children.
  • Working closely with the teachers to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support when needed.

Ideal Candidate

  • Hold a QTS or equivalent.
  • Experienced working with SEN and EAL students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to support learning.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
