SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rawtenstall, Lancashire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:50am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £13.75 - £14.50
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Rawtenstall that provides tailored education and support to children and young people with a range of complex needs. This is a long-term, full-time opportunity for a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant who is ready to make a real difference.
The school caters for pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Physical disabilities and associated medical needs
You will be supporting pupils both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, assisting with learning activities, emotional regulation, and personal care. Candidates must be comfortable with personal care as this will be a regular part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils across a range of needs and age groups

Provide 1:1 and small group support, tailored to individual EHCPs

Assist with daily routines, including feeding, changing, and toileting

Foster positive relationships and promote independence

Work collaboratively with teaching staff and therapists

Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements:
-
Experience working in an SEN or care-based setting is highly desirable
-
Confidence in supporting pupils with complex needs
-
Comfortable with personal care (toileting, changing, hygiene)

Patient, nurturing, and adaptable
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
