SEN Teaching Assistant 
Location: Rawtenstall, Lancashire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:50am – 3:30pm
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £13.75 - £14.50

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN school in Rawtenstall that provides tailored education and support to children and young people with a range of complex needs. This is a long-term, full-time opportunity for a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant who is ready to make a real difference.

The school caters for pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Physical disabilities and associated medical needs

You will be supporting pupils both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis, assisting with learning activities, emotional regulation, and personal care. Candidates must be comfortable with personal care as this will be a regular part of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils across a range of needs and age groups

• Provide 1:1 and small group support, tailored to individual EHCPs

• Assist with daily routines, including feeding, changing, and toileting

• Foster positive relationships and promote independence

• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and therapists

• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Requirements:

• Experience working in an SEN or care-based setting is highly desirable

• Confidence in supporting pupils with complex needs

• Comfortable with personal care (toileting, changing, hygiene)

• Patient, nurturing, and adaptable

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
