SEN Teaching Assistant –

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Poole school setting. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about inclusive education and looking to make a real impact on young people's lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN)

  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management

  • Help develop and implement tailored learning strategies and support plans

  • Foster a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for all pupils

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech and language needs) is desirable

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A willingness to learn and a genuine interest in working in education

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, psychology degree) are beneficial but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
