SEN Support Roles – Pontefract & Surrounding Areas

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We’re looking for dedicated individuals to work in specialist schools and alternative provisions across Pontefract, Castleford, Featherstone, and Knottingley.

You’ll be supporting children with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and complex learning difficulties. Whether providing one-to-one support, assisting in the classroom, or helping with sensory and communication needs, your role will be vital in creating a positive learning environment. Every day is different, and your patience, structure, and encouragement will help these children thrive.

This role is perfect for those with backgrounds in education, care, or support work who are looking to make a meaningful impact. Opportunities are available on both a short-term and long-term basis, offering flexibility to suit your availability. Having your own transport is highly beneficial, as it will allow you to access a wider range of schools and opportunities in the region.

What We’re Looking For:

✔ Experience working with children with SEN, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or complex learning needs.
✔ A patient, adaptable, and resilient approach to supporting young people.
✔ Background in education, care, youth work, or similar roles (desirable).
✔ Team Teach or other relevant training, or a willingness to complete it.
✔ Access to transport is preferred to increase the number of schools and opportunities available.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
