SEN Teaching Assistant

The head of a client special school is currently looking for an SEN teaching assistant to join a really lovely 3-19 special school based in Newport. The role will be to support a very lively KS2 class. The pupils within the class are low functioning and some pupils may be non-verbal.  The pupils will need additional support in their daily routines and assistance with their school based targets. The school hours are 8:30am-3:30pm, pay will be based entirely on experience ranging from GBP57.00-GBP65.00 a day. 

The school are interested in applications from experienced SEN teaching assistants, former care workers and graduates who have experience working with children with Autism or look to pursue a career in the sector. Personal experience working with special educational needs is also considered.  You will have good support from the school’s SEND coordinator and class teachers and training will be given.

• Shows enthusiasm, is proactive, self-motivated and able to use initiative.
• Will have professional or personal experience working with SEN.
• Will have an education or care background
• Is caring, understanding and patient.
