Empower Young People Every Day
An innovative secondary school in New Milton is looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support students aged 11 to 16 with a variety of complex needs, including SEMH challenges.

The school is a specialist setting designed for students requiring a nurturing and alternative approach to mainstream education.

A Supportive and Rewarding Environment
This is a school that understands its pupils—offering personalised, therapeutic, and skills-based learning to help them re-engage with education.

Staff create a calm and consistent setting where relationships are prioritised and progress is measured in both academic and personal growth.

Your Role Will Involve:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis with SEN and SEMH needs

  • Promoting engagement, routine and emotional regulation throughout the school day

  • Assisting with learning both in and out of the classroom in an alternative provision setting

  • Encouraging confidence, independence and resilience in vulnerable learners

  • Working closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff

What We’re Looking For:

  • A caring, empathetic and patient individual with a strong desire to make a difference

  • Experience with SEN or SEMH is desirable but not essential—training is provided

  • Someone who can remain calm and consistent, even in challenging situations

Why Join Teaching Personnel?

  • Access to a wide range of free CPD courses and ongoing training

  • Weekly pay through PAYE

  • Support from a dedicated consultant who understands the needs of SEN professionals

  • Opportunities to progress within SEN and alternative education

If you are ready to help shape young lives and support students in a setting where their wellbeing is central, we’d love to hear from you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
