Our central Manchester based client school is looking to recruit a confident and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to start with them at the beginning of October. This full time support position is to start on Monday 5th October once the students have started back and certain levels have been assessed with the possibility of commencing sooner for the right candidate who is available.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will report to the school’s SENCO and be given a specific cohort of pupil premium students to support within mainstream classes. The role of this SEN Teaching Assistant will include general support of students with needs such as Autism, ADHD, and general behaviour management. Intervention will also be a part of this SEN Teaching Assistant’s role supporting teachers in English and Humanities lessons with opportunity to support in Maths and other subjects.
Any individuals with transferable skills of working with young people who have special educational needs (SEN) are encouraged to apply now for consideration. This role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, youth worker with experience of supporting students in a school setting or a support worker who has worked with young people in the community.
Highlights of this SEN Teaching Assistant role:
- Pay will be dependent upon experience; opportunity to earn up to GBP1350 per month
- Full time support position in a central Manchester based secondary school with a supportive network of teachers and senior leadership team
- Start ideally on Monday 5th October; 4 weeks after the term starts for the remainder of the academic year
- Work within a large support team including a SENCO, Learning Support Manager and team of 4 Teaching Assistants/Cover Supervisors
- Support specific students with a special educational needs as well as providing intervention and support within the classroom supporting teachers where required
This central Manchester based secondary school is located close to the city centre. For those prospective Teaching Assistants travelling by public transport, there are regular buses which travel from Piccadilly Gardens in the city centre to a road close to the school. The metrolink tram also services the school well with the tram stop being a short walk away from the school. The school boasts fantastic facilities with a large on site car park for those who drive as well as being set in a quiet residential area.
The school is ideally looking for a confident Teaching Assistant who is able to add value to students supporting them as required. Someone who takes direction well is essential with any experience of supporting students highly desirable.
