Job description

A specialist school in North London that works with SEN children is looking for teaching assistants to take on long term positions. The school works with ages 11-18 and specialises in individualised learning plans and lessons to aid development in a helpful and positive way. The needs of students within the school range from moderate to complex, but each student will have needs that staff individualise their approach to and that will influence the way that the students learn best.

Within these roles, you will be working with groups of students to provide any additional support that is required due to their needs or the work that they are completed. You will work alongside other members of staff to help students feel comfortable and motivated within the learning environment that they have. Due to the plans that have been put in place, you will also work with other members of staff to provide meaningful feedback that means students are moving forward at a good rate.

You may also be asked to assist with personal care within this role.

Experience for this role:

  • Previous experience working within a school
  • Knowledge and experience with young people with additional needs
  • Comfortable with providing personal care if needed
  • Previous experience with challenging behaviour
  • Providing feedback in a comprehensive and productive way
  • Behaviour management

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
