SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme
Teaching Personnel is seeking a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Levenshulme. This is a full-time position starting immediately and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance.
Role Overview
This role is ideal for an individual passionate about supporting students with special educational needs (SEN), including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and the SENCO to provide tailored support, ensuring all learners can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Providing one-to-one and small group support for students with additional learning needs.

Assisting teachers in adapting lessons to ensure students with SEN can fully engage with their education.

Helping students develop confidence, independence, and social skills.

Implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.

Supporting students with literacy, numeracy, and key subject areas based on their learning needs.

Assisting with classroom behaviour management, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Monitoring student progress and communicating feedback to the SENCO and teaching staff.

Encouraging and assisting students in developing coping strategies to manage their learning difficulties.

Providing additional support during breaks, lunchtimes, and extracurricular activities, if required.
Candidate Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.

A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting students with diverse learning needs.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
-
A proactive and enthusiastic attitude, with a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
-
The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
-
A background in education, psychology, social work, youth work, or similar is advantageous.
Salary & Benefits:

Weekly pay between £419.25 - £500, depending on experience and responsibilities.
