Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: South East England, West Sussex, Horsham

Job Type: Permanent, expected to work Full-Time hours

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Horsham, West Sussex. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom setting. Your primary focus will be on assisting SEN students with their learning and development, providing individualised support and guidance as needed.

Job Duties:

  • Provide support to SEN students in the classroom
  • Assist with individualised learning activities
  • Implement behaviour management strategies
  • Work closely with teachers to adapt lesson plans for SEN students
  • Monitor and track student progress

Required Qualifications:

Experience with SEN requirements or equivalent qualifications

Education:

Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent

Experience:

Prior experience working with SEN children, professional or personal.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good behaviour management skills
  • The confidence to work 1:1 with an SEN needs child
  • Pro-active attitude with the ability to plan activities
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing SEN requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional training in SEN support or equivilent experience

Working Conditions:

This role is based in a school setting and may involve working with students with varying SEN requirements. The position is full-time and may require flexibility in working hours to accommodate student needs. Benefits include extensive CPD and in-school training opportunities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
