We are a specialist post-16 college located just off the Gloucester Docks, and we are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 16–25 with a range of Special Educational Needs. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from care, support work, or health and social care backgrounds who are looking for a new challenge in a stable, fulfilling education environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting SEN students aged 16–25 in classroom, community, and life-skills sessions
  • Helping learners develop independence, communication, and practical life skills
  • Assisting with basic IT activities and helping students grow digital confidence
  • Joining staff and students on occasional educational day trips
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff to maintain a safe, inclusive environment

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience in care, support work, SEN, or education is highly welcomed
  • Empathy, patience, and strong communication skills
  • Basic IT skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Passion for supporting young people with Special Educational Needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
