SEND Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 2

Full‑time | Term‑time only
Galgate (LA2)

Teaching Personnel are supporting a welcoming primary school in Galgate (LA2) to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 2 team. This full‑time role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils who require additional support to access learning.


About the Role

  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small‑group SEN support
  • Assist pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD and speech & language needs
  • Help deliver EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and independence
  • Adapt learning resources to suit individual needs
  • Support classroom routines, transitions and day‑to‑day activities
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider staff team

What the School Are Looking For

  • Experience supporting primary‑aged pupils, ideally in KS2
  • Strong understanding of SEN and appropriate support strategies
  • A nurturing, patient and consistent approach
  • Confident communication and strong organisational skills
  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • A genuine commitment to supporting children’s progress and wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
