Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Enfield
Teaching Personnel are looking for an individual who provides inclusive and nurturing learning environments for all students. We are committed to supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to reach their full potential and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our SEN Coordinator and teaching staff to support students with diverse learning needs. This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with SEN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, both in the classroom and in specialised learning environments.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies tailored to each student's needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students feel supported, valued, and respected.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure effective communication and holistic support for students with SEN.
- Adapt learning materials and activities to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and SEN Coordinator.
- Support students during transitions between activities and locations within the school environment.
- Encourage independence and self-confidence in students with SEN, while providing appropriate levels of assistance and guidance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of children with diverse needs.
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality of opportunity for all students.
- Enhanced Child Only DBS, which is on the update service. Or willingness to apply for a DBS.
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support are advantageous but not essential.
