SEN Teaching Assistant – Christchurch
Location: Christchurch, Dorset
Positions: Full-Time & Ad-Hoc
Contracts: Supply & Permanent
Start Date: September 2025
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel is looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join mainstream primary schools across Christchurch.
About the Role:

Support pupils with a range of learning, behavioural, and physical needs.
-
Assist in delivering Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting resources to suit each child’s needs.
-
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other school staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Engage in both one-to-one and group support sessions, helping pupils achieve their full potential.

Provide support within mainstream primary school classrooms, ensuring all pupils can access the curriculum effectively.
We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children with SEN (in schools, care, or other educational settings).

Patience, empathy, and a positive, can-do attitude.
-
Flexibility to work across different key stages and varying hours, including full-time or ad-hoc supply.

Strong communication skills and a commitment to promoting inclusion.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
