If so, this exciting opportunity could be for you. We at Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a confident Teaching Assistant to work within a SEN Provision in Chesterfield for Primary and/or Secondary students. The successful candidate for this role, will have knowledge and understanding of how to support children with social and emotional mental health needs and general moderate/severe learning difficulties. 

 

For this role, some form of experience working with behaviour that challenges is required. We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic about supporting children in their education as well as patient and understanding with Special Educational Needs. The school are looking for someone who is pro-active, mentally resilient, and comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

 

Your responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant include but aren’t limited to:

-          Managing and supporting children with moderate to severe learning difficulties 

-          Ensuring pupils stay on task by managing disruptive behaviour.

-          Providing support to children on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting.

-          Safeguarding children.

-          Assisting the teacher in planning engaging lessons for the class in line with school policies

-          Collaborating with the class teacher and other support staff to provide the best support.

 

All applicants will be required to have a child workforce, enhanced DBS on the Update Service and at least two references from former employers.

Wage – £83-£95 per day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
