Role: Teaching Assistant with a SEMH focus

Are you passionate about supporting young learners on their educational journey? One of my partnership schools is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their  vibrant and welcoming school based in Carshalton.

 The School

This school is a SEN school which caters to learners who have Social ,Emotional and mental health struggles. It is a cohort of students who can’t work in a mainstream school for a variety of reasons from a traumatic past, a specific SEN requirement or in general challenging behaviour.  The school refer to these as super powers!

The schools works across Primary and Secondary and has 80 pupils ages 5-16.

One of the main reasons I am passionate about the school is there dedication to teach and let the students leave school with an education/qualifications. They operate like a mainstream school in this sense.

The headteacher has superpowers of her own. The school are on the hunt for new staffing, people passionate about education and wanting a career. The school have been known to support career progression including supporting Teaching Qualifications.

The school is vibrant and supportive and even offer free lunch to staff on Fridays alongside a early finish!

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Support the class teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson delivery
  • Work one-to-one and in small groups with children to reinforce learning
  • Help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of learning resources
  • Contribute to the assessment and tracking of pupil progress

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Relevant experience working with children for example Teaching Assistant or Youth work
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Shows patience, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to helping children succeed
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to get one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
