Job Role: SEN Support Assistant
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £89.38 per day
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you enjoy creating engaging strategies to help children learn, communicate, and thrive?
Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated SEN Support Assistant to join a welcoming nursery setting, working on an enhanced ratio to provide tailored support for children with a variety of additional needs.
This role is ideal for someone who is nurturing, patient, and able to build strong bonds with children, particularly those who are non-verbal or require alternative communication strategies. You will work closely with the nursery SENCo, families, and external professionals to promote the best outcomes for each child.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting children’s development through sensory play and regulating activities.

Encouraging independence and maintaining daily routines while ensuring safety.

Creating stimulating and purposeful learning environments and resources.

Promoting hygiene, cleanliness, and a safe environment at all times.

Maintaining professional boundaries and reporting any concerns in line with policy.
Requirements:
✅ Experience supporting children with SEN – essential
✅ Previous experience in Early Years – desirable (1+ year)
✅ Knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework – desirable
✅ Strong communication skills and a caring, resilient nature

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
