Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: Bury, Greater Manchester

Position Overview: As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. Working closely with our experienced teaching staff, you will contribute to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs.
  2. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to the development of personalized learning strategies.
  3. Support students in their academic, social, and emotional development.
  4. Collaborate with the class teacher and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
  5. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued and respected.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Relevant experience working with children with special educational needs.
  2. Minimum of GCSEs in English and Mathematics.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Patient, empathetic, and adaptable.
  5. An understanding of various special educational needs and the ability to tailor support accordingly.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
