Recruiting on behalf of a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Oldham.
Are you a passionate and resilient HLTA looking for a new challenge? Our client, a well-respected PRU in Oldham, is seeking a dedicated High-Level Teaching Assistant to work primarily with students presenting behaviour-based needs. This role will also involve covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities:
-
Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.
-
Delivering pre-set lessons and covering classes during staff absence.
-
Assisting with the implementation of behaviour support plans and strategies.
-
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, support teams, and senior leaders.
-
Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning.
-
Helping to develop and adapt resources to meet individual student needs.
Requirements:
-
HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).
-
Previous experience supporting challenging behaviour, ideally within a PRU, alternative provision, or SEN setting.

Confident managing classrooms and covering lessons across various subjects.
-
Strong resilience, adaptability, and excellent interpersonal skills.
-
Team Teach training is highly desirable (or willingness to undertake training prior to starting).
