Our client, a well-respected PRU in Oldham, is seeking a dedicated High-Level Teaching Assistant to work primarily with students presenting behaviour-based needs. This role will also involve covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher.

Role Details:

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.

• Delivering pre-set lessons and covering classes during staff absence.

• Assisting with the implementation of behaviour support plans and strategies.

• Working collaboratively with teaching staff, support teams, and senior leaders.

• Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning.

• Helping to develop and adapt resources to meet individual student needs.

Requirements:

• HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).

• Previous experience supporting challenging behaviour, ideally within a PRU, alternative provision, or SEN setting.

• Confident managing classrooms and covering lessons across various subjects.

• Strong resilience, adaptability, and excellent interpersonal skills.

• Team Teach training is highly desirable (or willingness to undertake training prior to starting).
