Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – BH8

Location: BH8, Bournemouth
Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant
Start Date: ASAP / January 2026

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for making a real difference? I’m currently working with a lovely, welcoming primary school in the BH8 area that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate TA to support a non-verbal child on a 1:1 basis, full time.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, nurturing and truly committed to supporting a child’s learning, communication and emotional development within a mainstream school setting.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 support to a non-verbal child throughout the school day

  • Supporting communication using strategies such as PECS, visual aids or Makaton (experience desirable)

  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals

  • Helping to create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment

  • Supporting both learning and emotional regulation

‍ The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has previous experience working with SEN, particularly non-verbal children

  • Is patient, calm, reliable and caring

  • Confident in supporting communication needs and behaviour regulation

  • Able to commit to a full-time, long-term position

  • Passionate about helping children reach their full potential
