Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – BH8
Location: BH8, Bournemouth
Position: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant
Start Date: ASAP / January 2026
Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for making a real difference? I’m currently working with a lovely, welcoming primary school in the BH8 area that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate TA to support a non-verbal child on a 1:1 basis, full time.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, nurturing and truly committed to supporting a child’s learning, communication and emotional development within a mainstream school setting.
The Role:

Providing 1:1 support to a non-verbal child throughout the school day
-
Supporting communication using strategies such as PECS, visual aids or Makaton (experience desirable)

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals
-
Helping to create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
-
Supporting both learning and emotional regulation
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Has previous experience working with SEN, particularly non-verbal children
-
Is patient, calm, reliable and caring
-
Confident in supporting communication needs and behaviour regulation
-
Able to commit to a full-time, long-term position

Passionate about helping children reach their full potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
