SEN Teaching Assistant – Immediate Start
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time | Temporary to Permanent (depending on performance and school needs)
Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential? We’re looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Bournemouth.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who thrives on making a positive impact in the classroom.
Your Role:

Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
-
Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging, inclusive lessons
-
Help manage behaviour in a calm and consistent way, promoting positive outcomes
-
Support pupils’ emotional and social development throughout the school day

Assist with classroom resources, preparation, and general administrative tasks
What We’re Looking For:
-
Proven experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting
-
A good understanding of individual learning plans and differentiated support
-
Excellent communication, patience, and empathy
-
A flexible and proactive attitude with a genuine passion for helping children succeed

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
