Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Outstanding Secondary School (BL4)
Full-time | Term Time Only | £85–£95 per day | Ideal for Future Teachers or Psychologists

An Outstanding-rated secondary school in the BL4 area of Bolton is looking to appoint a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated inclusion team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience in a setting where high expectations go hand-in-hand with exceptional support for students with additional needs.

About the Role:

You’ll work as part of a skilled SEN team supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4, both in-class and within tailored small group sessions. The pupils have varied needs including autism, ADHD, social and emotional difficulties, and mild/moderate learning needs. You’ll play a key role in:

  • Providing targeted academic and emotional support

  • Helping students access the mainstream curriculum

  • Promoting student confidence, resilience and independence

  • Liaising with staff, families and external specialists to track and celebrate progress

What We’re Looking For:

  • A recent graduate with a strong academic background (Psychology, Education, English, or related fields preferred)

  • A genuine interest in SEN and inclusive education

  • A calm, patient and proactive approach to challenges

  • Some experience supporting young people (e.g. through school placements, youth work, mentoring, care roles)

  • Commitment to professional growth – this role is ideal if you're considering teacher training, educational psychology or a long-term career in education
