Teaching Assistant (1:1 SEN Support) – KS2

FY3, Blackpool | Full-Time | Start ASAP
Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Key Stage 2 pupil at a welcoming primary school in the FY3 area of Blackpool.

This rewarding role will involve providing tailored support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), with a particular focus on Cognition and Learning needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the pupil access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual targets within the classroom environment.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide dedicated support to a KS2 pupil with Cognition and Learning needs.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's individual requirements.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies and interventions.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Support the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Encourage independence and engagement in classroom activities.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual who:

  • Has previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with Cognition and Learning needs.
  • Has experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis.
  • Demonstrates patience, resilience, and a proactive approach.
  • Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is passionate about making a difference to children's educational outcomes.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous SEN experience is essential.
  • Experience supporting pupils with Cognition and Learning difficulties is highly desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Two professional references covering the past two years.
