SEN Teaching Assistant 

Specialist Provision 

£385 -425/ Week

A special school located in Birmingham are currently seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with special educational needs. You will be working along students with Autism and Social and Emotional Mental Health. You will need to be confident in your approach and be able to build positive relationships from the get-go.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students in their academic and social development.
  • Foster a nurturing and supportive atmosphere for students with various learning needs.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Confidence, resilience, and a passion for working with SEN students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to adapt to the diverse needs of students.

Qualifications:

  • Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (any relevant Qualification will also be accepted)
  • Experience working in a special school setting is highly desirable or if you have any experience working with vulnerable children or adults will also be desirable.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must have or be willing to apply for an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
