Sen Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working with a primary school in Barry seeking an ALN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs as part of their specialist provision.

This is a role for someone who can bring patience, consistency and creativity to the classroom and help pupils overcome barriers to learning.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Helping children access lessons and activities
• Supporting communication, social skills and independence
• Helping pupils manage sensory and emotional regulation
• Using positive approaches to support behaviour
• Working alongside teachers and specialist support staff
• Creating a safe and positive environment where pupils can thrive

You could be a great fit if you:

• Have experience working with children or young people with ALN
• Have worked in care, youth work, sports, mentoring or support work
• Are calm and confident when situations become challenging
• Build strong relationships and communicate well
• Are keen to develop your career within ALN education

You don't need to have followed a traditional school-based route — your experience and attitude could be just as valuable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
