ALN Teaching Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel are currently working with a primary school in Penarth that is looking for an experienced ALN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
The role will involve providing additional support to pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs, helping them access the curriculum and feel confident within the classroom.
What you'll be doing
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support
- Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD and other ALN
- Helping children engage with classroom learning
- Encouraging independence and confidence
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Adapting activities and resources where required
- Working closely with the class teacher and ALNCo
- Helping pupils develop socially as well as academically
The school is looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working with children with ALN
- Is patient, calm and consistent
- Can build positive relationships with pupils
- Understands that every child may require a different approach
- Is confident working as part of a wider school team
What Teaching Personnel offers
- £13.75+ per hour, paid weekly through PAYE
- Full-time Monday-Friday school hours

- Free CPD and specialist ALN training
- Support with Enhanced DBS and EWC registration if required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
