Barry / Penarth Area | KS1 | September Start

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil in Key Stage 1 within a primary school in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The pupil has additional learning needs alongside speech and language difficulties, and the school is looking for someone who can help remove barriers to communication and learning.

Your main focus

Communication

  • Encouraging the pupil to communicate their needs
  • Supporting classroom discussions and interactions
  • Using appropriate communication strategies

Learning

  • Supporting literacy and numeracy activities
  • Breaking tasks into smaller steps
  • Helping the pupil remain engaged

Social development

  • Encouraging positive interaction with classmates
  • Supporting collaborative activities
  • Developing confidence and independence

Wellbeing

  • Recognising when the pupil is becoming overwhelmed
  • Providing reassurance and appropriate support
  • Helping maintain a predictable and positive routine

Experience of working with speech and language needs or ALN is highly desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
