Special Education Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant Wanted – CF63 Area

Teaching Personnel are on the lookout for a dedicated, hard-working, passionate individual to take on the role of SEN Teaching Assistant in & around the Barry area.

No Professional Experience? No Problem!

If you have any experience with SEN in your personal life, then we would still love to hear from you!

Role Duties:

-          Supporting the pupil on a 1:1 basis in the classroom and other day to day activities.

-          Create a safe, positive, fun environment in the classroom to instil confidence in the pupil.

-          Develop a working rapport with the student.

-          Find an effective way to deliver feedback for the student’s efforts.

-          Promote a child-led approach.

-          Deal with challenging behaviour and be comfortable removing the pupil from a potentially triggering environment.

The role is focused in the CF63 area in a primary school setting. The school is a 10-minute walk from Barry Train Station and has a dedicated SEN Learning Co-Ordinator. You will be working with a pupil that may have any of Autism, ADD, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Dyslexia or other conditions.

The working hours will be between Monday – Friday starting at 8:30am & finishing at 3:30pm.

-          Want to enhance every child’s learning experience.

-          Be comfortable in a school setting.

-          Have a strong motivation to improve their own skills in a learning environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
