Teaching Assistant required for a School which caters for Autistic students in Headington

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a teaching assistant to work in a large Autism in Headington that caters for students aged 8-19 with Autism and severe learning difficulties. The available position will be working as a TA within a key stage 2 class of approximately 8 students. Your role will be to work with class teacher and other staff members throughout the school to help promote a positive and safe learning environment for all students.

The school prides itself on ensuring all students are given the education to help manager their Autism and develop skills of social tolerance and interaction. It is important that the selected applicant is promoting this and all other school values at all times. You will be required to work in small groups and on a one to one basis helping each student to make progress with learning according to their education health care plan that is based on their cognitive and functional abilities. It is essential that applicants have experience in a similar setting and have a good understanding on the use of PECs within learning and interaction.
