Are you looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant position in South East London?

Are you available for full time work starting on Monday 4th February?

Can you commit to travelling to Peckham for work each day?

I work with an Ofsted graded 'outstanding' secondary school for children with severe special needs in the Peckham area, who have an opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant looking for full time work. The class with the vacancy is a key stage 4 class of 9 students who have mild to severe autism and other speech and language difficulties - most students are non-verbal.

I am looking for a Teaching Assistant who:

  • Is able to support children with autism, including some with challenging behaviour
  • Can provide personal care where necessary including assisting with toileting
  • Has experience of supporting children with SEN either in primary or secondary
  • Is able to assist pupils in the hydrotherapy swimming pool once a week
  • Can provide excellent references from previous employment
  • Has a DBS on the update service, or is willing to complete a new application asap
  • Is able to travel to this school in Peckham, for an 09:00am start and 16:00pm finish each day
  • Holds a relevant qualification related to working with children (degree or level 3 is desirable)
  • Has completed relevant training (Autism Awareness, ABA, Team Teach, Moving and Handling, PECS, Makaton, BSL are all desirable)

Teaching Personnel has been operating in the UK for over 20 years and we are committed to improving the quality of our staff. We can offer training courses that are either free or at a reduced cost, and a dedicated consultant will liaise with you regularly to ensure you are happy in your position.

Further opportunities are always available, including the possibility of securing a permanent position with this school if you like working with them. This is a long term role and the school will also invest in your personal development - you will be eligible to attend all whole school CPD training days.

Teaching Personnel will be your direct employer to begin with, which means we will pay your employer's national insurance contribution, and we will also pay a pension contribution for you. Our daily rates start from £55 per day, dependent on experience.

If you would like to work as a SEN Teaching Assistant at this school in the Peckham area, send your CV for consideration today.
