An Ofsted 'OUTSTANDING' SEN school in Radcliffe, Bury are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support within their school on a long term basis.
This school are a 98 place school that support pupils with complex medical, communication and physical needs. Some children also have Autism Spectrum Conditions that can result in challenging behaviours. The school caters for pupils aged 4 - 11 throughout mixed ability classes. Pupil's communication needs result in alternative methods of communication being used around school, such as iPads, PECs, Brail and BSL. Promoting independence is a main focus within this 'Outstanding' school therefore staff that share this passion is essential.
The Teaching Assistant would need to be flexible to working across all age ranges and with different abilities.
It would be highly desirable for the Teaching Assistant to have experience of;
- Moving and Handling Training
- PEG Feeding
- Tracheostomy Training
- Personal Care
- A small number of pupils within this school also use BSL as a predominant method of communication, BSL training is highly desirable.
